Derek Whitmill, FNP-C

As an East Idaho native, Derek was born and raised in Idaho Falls and is a graduate of Hillcrest High School. After high school, Derek earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Idaho State University. Derek continued his education at South University, located in Savannah, Georgia, where he earned his Masters of Science in nursing and became certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner.

Derek has worked in the hospital setting and in a cardiology practice but has always had a desire to work in family medicine. Derek loves the opportunity work at Dr. Reed Ward’s family practice where he can develop relationships with patients, earn their trust, and provide lifelong medical care.

As many East Idaho natives, Derek loves the outdoors and enjoys about any activity that incites this passion. Camping, fishing, hunting, biking are a few activities that he enjoys. Derek is married and has two boys. He loves spending time with them as much as possible.
